I have an RVF400 and there are some things you got wrong in this video. The RVF feels far lighter than the specs say ZX4RR is, and handles better also. The Keihin carbs on this bike when tuned and jetted PROPERLY by someone who knows what they are doing - NOT just a local mechanic, run just as reliable as fuel injection. The open guage cluster area is not 'missing' anything... It is this way because many of these older bikes are models made to race, and have been homolgated for the street. They were never meant to have a guage cluster. There isnt any torque off the line because the gearing is extraordinarily high, higher than its predecessor the VFR400. This is obviously for racing purposes.

Before the ZX-7 was released in 1989, back in 1987 (or was it 1988) at the Sanair race track in Ste-Pie (Québec), i saw young man racing with a Kawasaki Ninja 750R against racers with Honda RC30, Suzuki GSXR750 and Yamaha FZR750R bikes... His parents were behind me in the stands cheering him on. He showed talent and perseverance even though his bike was outclassed by the other bikes. He went on to become the racer with the most wins in the 600cc class in AMA's history. At the time i had no idea i was witnessing the humble beginnings of a great racer, Miguel Duhamel. 🇨🇦🏍️👍

Modern bike design is not as aestheticly pleasing. Too cluttered and often with a very unbalanced shape. The tiny tailpieces and pointy features don't soak into the brain in the same way as sexy aerodynamic curves

Yamaha themselves have said the R7 is not a replacement for the R6. What yamaha is doing makes sense, but I disagree with the timing of everything. Their line up will now have a better gradual climb. R3 - R7 - R9 - R1. This logically makes sense. It doesn't make sense to go from a R3 to a R6. The reason I disagree is the timing was disgusting to say the least. They should of had the R9 release within a year or two of the R6 going away. It is a shame they waited so long. Also, something that was not touched on was how the Naked class really took over. Ride a more comfortable bike, similar hp to the 600cc class, better powerband for the street, more torque, etc.... or ride a R6 with a peaky power band, less comfortable ergonomics, less torque, etc.

Of course classics one better i still got my cbr 929 RR fireblade year 2000 i ainr sellin it for shit that bike dont die....modern sportbikes got too much electronics issues wit useless shifters...i keep it old school im good wit my old bike

The 90s were an awesome time for motorsports. Snowmobiles were badass back then, bikes were badass too. Sometimes I think we are going backwards, but it's hard to argue with the new liter bikes. 600s aren't really making more power than 20 years ago, but the tech has improved 10 fold, allowing inexperienced people to ride more bike than they should.

I appreciate you comparing curb weight to curb weight. It seems like most armchair experts go with the first number they find, which is dry weight for early 90s bikes. When you take catalysts and ABS modules into account, the ZX4 is surprisingly close to the early 400s.

Some people mostly kids think you have to have a huge bike to go fast but you don’t. I got a liter bike and a CBR300R and the 300 is plenty fast for public roads! Only place you want more is the interstate but honestly If I had a 15 tooth front pulley that would be ok. Size is less important than how it’s built or what power it makes and puts down! I owned a R6 and my buddy had the same year CBR600RR and the only real difference was he would have to shift at 15k rpm and the R6 would scream on by the 16.5k rpm! Only thing they made it slightly faster! Just more of a racing power band! Low torque but screaming top end where the CBR is more linear little more torque at the expense of all out RPM and HP!

Who us buying sportbikes anyway nowadays? Honda VFR is gone already. The 600 class is gone already. It is just not what what people want at this moment. Bikers are loosing character and they want to buy allroads. No hardcore bikes needed anymore. Not selling=not producing. And the Yamaha R7? Just put an MT07 engine in the chassis of an R6. The cheapest way to produce. No engineering needed. At the end it is all about money. We don’t buy, so production stops.

After my zx9r I found it too slow to consider ownership. it was comfortable, Id let my granny ride one.

Everyone talks about the h2 and zx4r,but they are also on top of their game with their true retro w650/800 bikes,and nobody ever talks about the asian market zx25r,250cc 44hp inline four bike.Kawasaki just has the bike for everyone! And not to forget,the new cbr 600 rr is out!!!

Planning to get the cbr500r as my first and last bike. I don't plan on upgrading and changing to bigger bikes that's why I think the cbr is a good fit for me compared to the ninja.

My first sport bike was a 92 Ninja ZX6e purchased in 93. The bike was incredible back then. But no way in hell looking back would I say it was better than the sport bikes today. More comfortable for sure, but that could have been my youthful physique. My '23 Hayabusa shits on classic sport bikes in every possible way and it's not even a "true" super sport, weighing in over 580 lbs. Nostalgia is not a substitute for performance.

As an owner of a Aprilia V4, nothing comes close to the sound and characteristic of a V4. Every time u ride the engine sings a beautifully unique song.
